This February we’re proud to have 44 host their first ever all-dayer, celebrating the occasion with some fine guests. They’ve pulled out the stops to brought along one of our favourite producers, who DJ sets are always a disco treat, Psychemagik. We visit the tropics today for a new all-day fest of upbeat bands and DJs. We’ll be treated to first ever live show by Young Blood, alongside a top notch bill of exciting upcoming bands in Evans The Death, My New Favourite Tribe and Babilondon. Evans the Death make frenetic and infectious punk pop which exudes the kind of unbridled charisma, intelligence, and runaway energy that promises a singularly exciting future for the band. It’s fair to say a restless urge for creativity has punctuated everything Daniel Avery has done to date. Having grown up on and been influenced by the risk taking DJ sets of Weatherall, Alkan, Smagghe, Pearson and Optimo, his own DJing style sees electro and techno thrown alongside cosmic drones, post-punk angles and mutant new wave whilst no momentum – or any floor – is lost. Yard Life Festival is bringing you another fantastic night of bands/DJ’s as a taster of what’s to come before the main event in April. Yard Life is a free, by invite only music, style and arts festival being held in Hackney Downs Studios on the 28th April 2012.
