The Camden Carry On with Alex Clare – live on New Years Day
A local institution, Bloody Awful Poetry host the annual carry on, featuring blistering live acts, hypnotic dancing delights and a swell of hazy beats to thunder out late into the night air. This year we’re delight to have one our favourite artist to emerge into the spotlight in 2011 – Alex Clare. Born and bred in South East London and raised on his dad’s bebop records, Alex has turned his talent for songwriting into a record deal, with a critically acclaimed debut album released on Island Records.
After joining Island Records Alex made his way across the Atlantic to New Orleans, to record with producers Diplo and Switch (Major Lazer). The result was the album track ‘Tight Rope’ and the addictive single – ‘Up All Night‘. The experience made for a really diverse sounding album with various influences.
